Keto For Beginners – A Guide to Keto

Are you just starting out with keto? It’s not hard to understand but we have put together the best tips to explain keto for beginners. There are many benefits to your health so you will want to get started as quickly as possible. The diet is a low-carb diet and you will be eliminating high-carb food items that contain flour, grains and sugar.

You may think that this will be difficult but you will be amazed at all the delicious foods that you can eat. Plus, after the first few days, most cravings will be entirely eliminated which makes this easy to turn into a way of life.

Write a Grocery List

When you are just starting out, you will have to get rid of many foods in your cupboard and replace them with keto-friendly foods. You will want to restock your kitchen with fresh, organic meats and vegetables. You can eat some fruit but for the most part, meat and veggies.

You will want to get rid of any processed foods, pasta, wheat and white flour and anything containing sugar, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup and other high carb sweeteners. You also want to get rid of vegetable oils such as canola and corn oil and replace them with olive oil, avocado oil or coconut oil. You should never use margarine, whether you are doing keto or not. Always use real butter.

There are sugar substitutes that you can have that will allow you to enjoy sweets. Erythritol, stevia and monkfruit are three sugar substitutes that won’t raise your blood sugar levels. You can use almond flour and coconut flour to make sweet baked goods.
