Are You Making These Intermittent Fasting Mistakes?

As you might expect, with so many people practicing intermittent fasting these days, there have been a number of mistakes. Our goal is to make you aware of the most common mistakes so you can avoid them. If you want to know if you are making these intermittent fasting mistakes, keep on reading.

Giving Up Too Easily

I’m not going to tell you that intermittent fasting is easy, since it isn’t. There will be quite a few changes in your life and you must be prepared for them.

While you are fasting, you will face some difficult days. This requires strong willpower and persistence. The good news is that these bad days ought to pass rather quickly. Within a few weeks, you will get used to intermittent fasting. After this, things should get easier.

Sadly, too many people quit intermittent fasting too soon. A sudden hunger pang during their fasting window convinces them that this is too much for them to handle. You can get back on track with a little motivation and perseverance through your intermittent fasting goals. Hunger pains come in waves and will quickly pass. Hang in there.

Some may eat something to stave off the hunger during their fasting period and break the rules of their fasting window. Just start again the next day if this happens to you. Don’t use this as an excuse to quit.

Not Planning

It is far more likely that you will fail if you jump in blindly. Intermittent fasting without a plan can result in people watching the clock constantly for their next eating window. Living this way is a miserable life.

The most important thing on your initial intermittent fasting journey is to anticipate what can go wrong. It is important that you have a plan in case these situations arise. Make sure to adjust your eating window if things aren’t working out for you. Trying to follow a different schedule is better than giving up altogether.

Expecting Too Much Too Soon

It is natural that you would like to lose weight as quickly as possible, and to see results right away. Weight loss tends to be more rapid if you fast for a longer period of time.

In fact, if you set your sights too high here by embarking upon an intermittent fasting method that requires fasting for long periods (even for days), you will just set yourself up for failure. You should start with the simplest method first so you will get used to fasting. Once you reach this point, you can always scale up.

Plan Foods That Will Keep You Full

In order to fast effectively, you must eat so that you are full for as long as possible after the start of your fasting window. The foods you eat during your eating windows must be planned accordingly to make sure that you achieve this.

Initially, you can eat everything you want during your eating window. As soon as you get through the initial two to three weeks, we suggest you change your diet to a healthier one. Weight loss will be faster, and you’ll feel better.
